Russian businesses are resisting the spread of SARS-COV-2 infection. Some employees are switching to home office mode. For employees who maintain continuous production, some prevention measures have are introducing: temperature measuring, coronavirus test, organizing a distance of 1.5-2 m at workplaces, and corporate transport. Many companies are repurposing clinics for the treatment of patients with COVID-19 and purchasing equipment and protective equipment for hospitals in the regions where they operate. Fertilizer manufacturer PhosAgro has allocated 100 million rubles for the construction of an infection center in Saratov. PhosAgro purchases ambulances, ventilators, oxygen concentrators, nebulizers, syringes, test tubes, diagnostic tests, and disinfectants. It also has personal protective equipment for hospitals in the regions where it operates: masks, glasses, and infection protection suits. PhosAgro supplies its employees with the recombinant interferon-alfa-2b “Grippferon” drug as medical prophylaxis. Preparations of recombinant interferon-alpha are one of the preventive measures recommended by the Russian Ministry of Health. Moreover, antiviral protection kits are creating for the company’s employees, contractors, and their families. The kits include masks, gloves, and disinfectants for four people.

Metalloinvest, an iron ore producer, has allocated 2 billion rubles to support medical institutions in the regions where it operates. It has invested 250 million rubles in building a hospital for patients with COVID-19 based on a hospital in Zheleznogorsk. The funds will be used to repair the building, purchase ambulances, medical equipment, and personal protective equipment. The coronavirus hospital of Zheleznogorsk city hospital has an intensive care unit with ventilators and other necessary medical equipment. In April, Metalloinvest employees received an additional payment of 10,000 rubles for the purchase of personal protective equipment. Metalloinvest also provides employees with individual kits. The kit includes four reusable masks, gloves, disinfectants, and vitamins.

NLMK, a steel and mining company, purchased ventilators, oxygen concentrators, x-ray machines, bronchoscopes, amplifiers, and personal protective equipment for hospitals in the Lipetsk region. NLMK also transferred medicines worth 1.5 million rubles to the Lipetsk infectious diseases hospital. The company conducts COVID-19 prevention among employees using interferon-alpha-2b drug “Grippferon.”

Talina agricultural holding has allocated more than 11.5 million rubles to prevent and combat COVID-19 and to support medical institutions. Talina provides local hospitals with therapeutic and diagnostic equipment and personal protective equipment for staff. Employees of agricultural holding companies and their families are provided with protective material. For drug prevention of employees, Talina purchased 5400 vials of the immunomodulatory drug “Grippferon.”

Russian Railways purchases PCR tests and equipment for detecting antibodies to coronavirus in blood plasma for the Yekaterinburg clinical diagnostic laboratory. At the main train stations, passengers are remotely measured temperatures. The waiting rooms are equipping with anti-bacterial lamps. To prevent disease, it ventilates premises 3-5 times during the working shift, adds healthy products to the menu of canteens that increase the body’s immune. It also provides employees with prevention pharmaceuticals, including “Grippferon,” “Arbidol,” and “Rimantadine.”

Gazprom energy company has published a memo on preventing the spread of COVID-19 and flu on its website. Among the recommendations: wash the nose with salt water 2-3 times a day, apply an antiviral oxoline ointment 0.25 % to the nasal mucosa, twice a day inject the “Grippferon” spray into the nose, add to the diet products fortified with vitamin C (sauerkraut, lemon, cranberries, cranberries), and products with natural phytoncides (garlic, onion), do not eat raw and insufficiently prepared animal food.
